Billing Policy

Cancellation Rules, Renewal Handling, and Refund Limits for Digital Services

Press Monitor offers digital subscription services, data access, alerts, dashboards, APIs, integrations, and research workflows. Because access and delivery begin electronically, cancellation and refund treatment is governed by this policy and any applicable contract.

Monthly plans
Cancel before the next renewal date to avoid the next billing cycle.
Annual plans
Cancel before renewal; fees already billed for the current committed term are non-refundable unless required by law or stated in writing.
Refund baseline
Except where required by law or expressly agreed in writing, fees are non-refundable and partial periods are not prorated.
Refund and Cancellation Policy

Cancellation Timing

  • Customers may cancel renewal of a monthly subscription before the next billing date. Cancellation stops future renewal charges but does not automatically reverse charges already billed for the current period.
  • Annual subscriptions and other committed terms may be cancelled before renewal of the next term. The current committed term remains in effect unless a separate written agreement provides otherwise.
  • Customers are responsible for cancelling through the correct account, billing, or support channel and for allowing reasonable processing time before renewal.

Refund Rules

  • Except where required by applicable law or expressly approved by Press Monitor in writing, all fees are non-refundable.
  • No refund, credit, or offset is owed for partial subscription periods, unused credits, unused alerts, unused API capacity, unused seats, setup work, configuration time, onboarding effort, or reduced usage after activation.
  • Trials, pilots, discounted offers, marketplace purchases, custom data work, advisory deliverables, and third-party pass-through charges may be subject to separate terms and may be non-cancellable and non-refundable once provisioned.

Suspension, Errors, and Exceptions

  • If a duplicate charge, clear billing error, or unauthorized payment is confirmed by us, we may issue an appropriate correction, credit, or refund at our discretion or as required by law.
  • Service suspension, source disruption, platform restrictions, force majeure events, or changes in third-party availability do not by themselves create a refund obligation unless required by law or separately agreed in writing.
  • Nothing in this policy limits any non-waivable consumer rights that apply under mandatory law.

Relationship to Other Terms

  • This policy should be read together with the Terms and Conditions, Privacy Policy, order form, marketplace terms, and any signed customer agreement.
  • To the maximum extent permitted by law, all services are supplied without warranty and liability remains subject to the limitation of liability terms posted on the website or agreed in writing.
  • Unless mandatory law requires otherwise, legal matters relating to this policy will be brought in Toronto, Ontario, Canada in the name of Press Monitor Inc. under the governing law and forum terms stated in the Terms and Conditions.
